In a jug-type device used by a family of 3, the cleaning element should be replaced approximately once a month. Its working resource, depending on the circumstances, is approximately 150-400 liters. In a three-stage stationary device, the cartridges are changed once every 9-12 months. If the consumption is more than average, then the replacement is made more often.

Changing cartridges is a process that does not require special skills or sophisticated equipment. It is enough to use a special replacement wrench to unscrew the flask, which is supplied with any filter.

All cartridges of a multistage instrument are replaced in the same way. The sequence of operations for their replacement:
close the common shut-off device in front of the filter;
open the drain of clean fluid to relieve pressure in the system;
unscrew the flask with a special wrench and remove the cartridge;
thoroughly, but without the use of detergents, clean and rinse the flask;
check the sealing gum under the cover and, if necessary, replace it with a new one;
insert a new cartridge into a clean flask and screw it tightly with a key;
perform these operations on all flasks;
when replacing the membrane, fill the flask with water before closing the lid;
after replacing all the cartridges, first open the general shut-off device of the system, then open the drain for 10 minutes to completely flush.

first, turn off the water in the system with a common tap;
unscrew the old filter;
clean the threads on the pipes;
wind a new seal (linseed tow or FUM tape);
install a new device;
open the common locking device;
check connections for leaks.
Cleaning the coarse filter
Cleaning can be manual or automatic. For manual cleaning, the first step is to unscrew the plug. If it is sealed together with the water meter, then you will have to call the master for service. When reinstalling the plug, it is not necessary to seal it.
To remove the plug, you need to prepare a large gas wrench and a 17 or 19 spanner wrench. To unscrew the plug more easily, the place of its junction with the body should be saturated with kerosene or WD-40. The instructions require that the system be closed before unscrewing the plug. During unscrewing, you need to hold the filter housing firmly with a gas wrench, and turn the plug with a cap.
A mesh cylinder is removed from an open outlet, the mesh is unfolded and washed. You can use a soft brush to clean the mesh. After flushing, everything is put in place. The thread for the plug should be sealed with tow or FUM tape and checked for leaks.
If a cartridge filter is installed, then there are 2 options for cleaning it. The first option is to disassemble the device and replace the dirty cartridge with a clean one, then reassemble everything. The second option is to remove the cartridge, put it in the bath, insert a hose into its middle and rinse it with a strong pressure of water.
Self-cleaning filters are equipped with a drain cock on the branch pipe. To perform flushing, the drain must be opened. The stream washes away any accumulated dirt.
There are automatic self-cleaning filters. Their flushing occurs either at specified intervals, or depending on the degree of contamination. At the right time, the electrical circuit gives the command to open or close the drain valve.
