Garcinia species are evergreen trees and shrubs, dioecious and in several cases apomictic. The fruit is a berry with fleshy endocarp, which in several species is delicious. Garcinia Cambogia grows in India and Southeast Asia and is a small fruit in the shape of a pumpkin. It’s the fruit of the Garcinia Gummi-gutta tree. Originally it was also known as the ‘Malabar tamarind’.
